Internet reports that the Nebraska Legislature has just passed a bill to regulate Bitcoin miners. Bill LB 526 requires large miners to bear the cost of infrastructure upgrades, requires miners to report energy use, and allows authorities to interrupt services. The bill was passed unanimously 49:0. Nebraska's Bitcoin Mining Act LB 526 is not a huge setback for the state's companies. The bill is only two pages long and is very straightforward. Unlike the anti-mining bill, it does not address carbon emissions or other environmental impacts. Instead, it focuses almost entirely on the power grid.
