Trump reached a $200 billion deal with the United Arab Emirates at the end of his Middle East trip
According to online reports, the White House said that during his visit to the United Arab Emirates, U.S. President Trump finalized a cooperation agreement totaling US$200 billion, which includes projects in the field of artificial intelligence that will boost the Gulf country's technological ambitions. "These agreements will significantly expand U.S. investment and market access in the United Arab Emirates," the White House said in a statement on Thursday. The announcement comes on the third and last leg of Trump's Middle East trip. Earlier this week, he announced a US$600 billion investment plan with Saudi Arabia and a US$243 billion cooperation agreement with Qatar. The results of the business agreement became the core highlight of Trump's first foreign visit since returning to the White House. Thursday's new agreement further implements the United Arab Emirates's promise that after Trump met with the country's national security adviser Sheikh Tahnon bin Zayed Al Nahyan in March this year, the United Arab Emirates plans to invest US$1.4 trillion in the United States over a decade, covering areas such as artificial intelligence infrastructure, semiconductors, energy and manufacturing.
